Christian Zacharias and Frank Peter Zimmermann will be on tour with a Beethoven Program in August. The two exceptional artists have been performing together since 1999, when they started their cooperation also with a Beethoven cycle. Today, 15 years later, they again dedicated their work to Beethoven’s duo repertoire. In his opus 12 the at the time 28 years old composer already willfully dismissed traditional rules and genre boundaries, looking for a real dialogue between violin and piano. The perfect tonal balance he finally found in his cheerful spring sonata op. 24. Christian Zacharias is celebrated for the poetry and precision of his touching interpretations and Frank Peter Zimmermann has been praised often for his exuberant and playful accounts of Beethovens sonatas that mix authoritative strength with breathtaking intimacy.
