This weekend, the Paris Philharmonie will revolve around Beethoven. Christian Zacharias, who will conduct the Orchestre de Paris and also perform as a soloist, is dedicating three concerts to the composer. Beethoven’s 1st piano concerto already bears his unmistakable signature, demanding much of the soloist. Christian Zacharias’ keen sense of music and intellect define his intricate interpretation. The 6th symphony, whose 5 movements capture the human perception of nature, perfectly coalesces in an overarching work. Beethoven noted “More the expression of feeling than painting” on the score’s title page. The listener is left to discern the individual encounters. The weekend of music will be further complemented by the wind quintet’s performance of chamber music.

In March 2017, Christian Zacharias will return to the Philharmonie alongside the Orchestre de Paris to perform a programme featuring Mozart’s works.
